History

The practice was opened by the founder, Peter Yttrup, in 1981. Since that time we have operated continuously in the Geelong and Surfcoast area, servicing clients needs for Structural, Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. Our clients are based both locally and nationally including Melbourne, country Victoria, interstate and New Zealand.

Since formation P.J. Yttrup and Associates have developed a reputation in research and innovation, particularly in relation to timber structures and the use of alternative materials such as rammed earth and straw bale.The early years of the practice involved research in areas of timber performance and timber structures, timber portal frames, bridges and serving on the advisory committee that developed the original Australian Standard for soil testing and footing design for residential structures, AS2870.

Our client base is wide and varied and includes Local Government and Water Authorities, Architects, Builders, Homeowners, other consultants and Developers.
